And I've finished the exams for another (academic) year - Hooray!!
How many books do you own?
I don't know and I'm not going to count em', but I do know I have too many for my shelves and I only have two years worth here - the rest are in storage - but probably quite a few are The Babysitters Club or some-such-other teenage easy reading. Anyway - I don't know - more than average for my age.
What was the last book you read?
I think it was Persuasion by my fav Jane Austen, but I'm not sure - it could've been Gulliver's Travels by Jonathon Swift for Uni.
What books are you currently reading?
Just now I'm reading Far from the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy and loving it. It was a recommendation from Mama.
This morning I was reading Phonetic Science by Ashby and Maidment which was v interesting, but now I've finished uni so I'm free.
Five books that mean a lot to me are....
Well I don't know about books that mean something to me - I have a sentimental liking for Annalie the art hater by Anne Fine, because when I was little every week when my Mum took me to the Library to get out new books all I ever wanted was 'Annalie!' and I would read it again. Eventually Mama tried to bribe me by saying 'you can have Annalie if you take out three other books'. So I would, but I'd only read one: Annalie. I don't know how long that went on for, but i'm sure it was quite a while.
In the same vain I like The enormous crocodile by Roald Dahl, because I remember Daddy reading it to me and my sis. He would always sneak a chicken or ten into the narrative, and Fran and I would shout 'Daddy it doesn't say chicken there!!!!' which was a great game.
So apart from sentimental books I don't really have any that mean something to me. Am I tragically sad and shallow? Oh well!
